Founded and built AggravateMe™: a consumer platform, free to use, that routes complaints and builds the record, from product concept and brand system through engineering and data.

Context

People with a legitimate complaint usually stop before they file. The right official channel is hard to find, the process feels intimidating, and the record of what happened is scattered across email, receipts, and memory.

Challenge

People with a legitimate complaint rarely know where it actually goes. The right official channel is buried, the process is intimidating, and most complaints are abandoned before they are ever filed.

Mandate

Founder and sole builder. Product, brand, engineering, and data.

Constraints

  • The product must never read as legal advice. It is not a law firm, not a government agency, and promises no outcomes.
  • Built and maintained by one person, so the architecture had to stay small enough to operate alone.
  • Finding the right channel had to stay free, or the product would fail the people it exists for.

System built

A platform, free to use, that matches consumers with relevant official complaint channels, explains why a channel may fit, organizes what happened into a record, and helps prepare a clearer, better-organized complaint.

  • Designed the product end to end: complaint-channel routing, guided intake, and record building that turns a frustrating situation into an organized, sendable complaint.
  • Created the full brand system: identity, voice, and the two branded frameworks, The Right Complaint Path™ for consumers and The Friction Finder™ for companies.
  • Engineered the platform on React, TypeScript, Express, and PostgreSQL, and shipped it to a live environment.
  • Kept the core free on purpose: finding the right channel costs nothing, with optional paid tools that make a complaint clearer and easier to send.
  • Held the product inside firm boundaries: it is not a law firm, not a government agency, and makes no outcome guarantees.

Execution

  • Designed the routing experience that matches a person to relevant official complaint channels and explains why each one may fit.
  • Built guided intake and record building that turns a messy situation into an organized, sendable complaint.
  • Created the full brand system and both branded frameworks: The Right Complaint Path™ for consumers and The Friction Finder™ for companies.
  • Engineered and shipped the platform on React, TypeScript, Express, and PostgreSQL.

From the work

Operating lesson

Free has to be the useful part. Putting channel routing behind a paywall would have removed the reason the product exists, so the paid tools improve a complaint rather than unlock it.
